Diax
From Anathem Wiki
The author makes a reference to the story of Jesus casting the money-changers out of the temple. In the book, Diax chases fortune tellers away from the temple with a rake. Diax's Rake refers literally to the garden implement that he used, as well as the the words that he uttered as he he swung it - basically "never believe a thing just because you want it to be true"
