"What is not elaborated upon in the book is in what manner Fraa Jad arrives at the optimal probability state, nor why it requires the death of some and not of others."

The second part (italicised) of the statement seems wrong to me. It is stated that the death of some persons was unavoidable, as no accessible world-state existed in which certain goals were met AND these people were alive. Obviously, in extension, other deaths were not necessary simply because in those cases there was no such conflict. (frank) 88.64.127.88 21:42, February 11, 2010 (UTC)
